Exploring the Floor: Rainy 12 Days Old - June 05, 2010
Rainy always likes to slide down from her warm mound of blankets and towels in the tokonoma onto the tatami mat floor. I always pick her up and return her. Today is was pretty warm and she was crying quite a bit so I guessed that she was hot and let her hangout and explore the cool floor for awhile. I didn’t want her to catch a chill so I put her on a zabuton cushion after a bit. A summer, linen covered cushion.
She looks tiny but this room is actually tiny, just four and a half tatami mats!
Often she propels herself with her back legs and her front legs fold back like flippers on a seal.
This is sleep. What a posture to sleep in!
